Believe My Part

During a recent Sunday morning service, I heard the Lord say to me, "I've done my part. You must do your part. Your part is to believe my part." God has done all He needs to do for us to live a victorious life on the earth. Since the beginning of time, God has been why man has not vanished from the earth. His loving mercies are keeping up from being destroyed by evil. John 3:16-17 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. God wants us to believe in what He has done for us through His Son Jesus. The word believes (Strong's Greek: 4100. πιστεύω (pisteuó) -- to believe, entrust (biblehub.com) means to put in trust. So what does God want us to believe? God wants us to believe that He can do anything but fail (1 Cor. 1:9). He wants us to believe that He loves us as His children (John 1:12).

God wants us to believe in what Jesus accomplished for us on the cross. Jesus accomplished seven things for us:

  1. Eternal Life. The life the faithful have here on earth is inseparably connected with the eternal life beyond, the eternal life of the future, the happy future of the saints in heaven.[1]John 1:15 declares, " that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 6:54 says, "Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. Read Romans 5:12-17.

  2. Righteousness. Righteousness is the state of moral perfection required by God to enter heaven.[2] Matthew 5:6 says, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." Jesus took our sinfulness and gave us His righteousness.

  3. Blessing. The word blessing in the New Testament designates that God favors us. Believers are "blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ" ( Eph. 1:3 ) and now inherit the blessings promised through the patriarchs ( Hebrews 6:12 Hebrews 6:15; 12:17; 1 Peter 3:9 ). As a result of receiving God's blessings in Christ, believers are a source of blessing to the world, especially in response to those who persecute them.[3]

4. Acceptance. To make graceful, endow with grace. Jesus took our rejection in exchange for his acceptance.[4] Read Ephesians 1:3-12.

5. Prosperity. Biblical prosperity means being blessed by God. Apostle Paul wrote, "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that though he was rich, yet for your sake, he became poor so that you by his poverty might become rich. [5] Read Philippians 2:5-7.

6. Health. Sickness became a reality of humanity when Adam sinned against God. Sickness is not God's will for us. Isaiah 53:5 says, "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes, we are healed. Read Acts 10:38, Matthew 4:23, and Luke 4:40. God's will for us is to be healed, healthy, and whole!

7. Glory. Before Jesus went to the cross, He prayed a High Priestly prayer. Read John 17. Verse 22-23 says, "And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. Also, read Hebrews 12:2. Adam lost his glory when he sinned, causing us to be born without God's glory. But Jesus, as the second Adam, took upon himself our shame in exchange for His glory. Shame is described as being hurt, rejected, disgraced, defiled, or humiliated. We feel shame when we are hurt by someone and guilty shame when we hurt others. Jesus bore both kinds of shame on the cross for us so we could experience total peace with God.[6]

God has done all he needs to do on our behalf through his Son. Our part is to believe His part and that He can do what He said He would do.

Father, forgive me for not believing that you have done all for by giving me your Son, Jesus, to die for me and as for me. I will no longer doubt your love for me. Because of Jesus, I am saved, healed, set free, and delivered. I no longer live under the yoke of condemnation and shame. I am free to enjoy every blessing that has been lavishly given to me. Thank you, Father, for loving me!
